Blackjack Card Counting
There’s always a way to win at an online casino game. Whether you’re the type of player who enjoys a simple game of online slots or video slots, or perhaps a more intricate game like blackjack. The latter is a game based on skill and not just pure luck. There are several strategies and techniques for winning at the game of blackjack but one of the most famous and popular ways of being successful at this fabulous game is the technique of card counting. This card counting strategy aims to help players gain an advantage within the game from the rest of the players taking part in the fun.
The father of card counting was a man called Edward R Thorp. He discovered the principles of card counting and published his method in 1962 in a book called “Beat the Dealer”. In his book Thorp managed to start a blackjack revolution which helped casino managers start taking action towards card counters. Even though card counting is not illegal, some casinos are against it and will players those players that are caught counting cards at a live blackjack table.
Even though card counting has a negative connotation of being a way of cheating at blackjack the reality is that it is just an easier way for players to be organized and keep track of the ratio of high to low cards left in the deck. As many players know, blackjack is different from all other online casino games because there is no real fixed house edge. The odds of a player winning and landing a natural blackjack are totally dependent upon the cards that have already been dealt and those cards still remaining in the deck hence the card counting being useful and effective in many more ways than initially considered.
